Dallin

I remember as a kid whenever a holiday or birthday came around I'd ask my mom what she wanted and with out fail she said she wanted all of us to get along and not fight. I distinctly remember shrugging her off and thinking to myself, we don't fight! How tainted my viewpoint!

Every night when I put the kids to bed, Kenzie always asks everyone what they are going to dream about. She usually says puppies, ponies, and kitty cats. Dallin's varies from spiders, to fighting bad guys, and lately it's been that we all die (kinda morbid!). The other night I caught myself saying, after an exceptionally hard day with the kids, "I'm going to dream about a whole day when Kenzie and Dallin get a long and never fight or whine or cry!"

Oh man, it's true my mother is rubbing off on me. Dallin has officially reached the "older brother" status. He picks on, teases, dominates, and swindles his little sister. He has figured out just what to do to make her scream. Knows just what to do to make her cry. Pushes her down and forces his way in front of her. And tries to convince her to disobey me to get into some sort of mischief...thus blaming her when they've been caught in the act!

Some days I want to crawl back into bed and instantly fall asleep only to wake up and find my children smiling and playing so lovingly together.

However, it's not always bad. Take today for instance. The weather was AWESOME so we spent all day outside and the kids played so well together! And when things got a little sticky between them they were able to work it out on their own.

Dallin says some pretty funny things and has developed quite the imagination. He loves Legos, Star Wars, army guys, playing his computer games, riding bikes, playing outside, hanging out with Dad, and playing with his friends.

While he is my biggest challenge, I love him to death! When he tells me out of the blue, "mmmm, this is good Mom! Thanks for the dinner!" or "I love you , mom" it makes it all worth it.

Hee, hee. That made me giggle. He doesn't look like a challenge to me... to cute.

I think Max has figured out the same thing ... but with me. He knows when I am upset with him and he'll say, "Are you happy mom?" Little stink pants ... amazing, where do these kids learn all this?
