Just Not Practical

I love little headbands for baby girls.  I think they are adorable...as long as they aren't too big.  HOWEVER...they just aren't practical.  Yes, I'm a practical kind of gal.  I've tried with all three of my girls to put these stinking things on their heads but they never stay on!  They always fall off and then they are on their eyes, or around their neck, or on the floor, or completely missing altogether.  Uggh!

Need I say more?

Cool Stroller

I had to show you my new stroller.  It totally rocks!  It can convert to a double or a single.  You can also configure it 16 different ways.  Now only if it came with a babysitter!

Sick Baby = Busy Mama

I haven't had much time to blog lately and I'm missing it.  Little Alayna has been so terribly sick these past few days putting my life on hold.  She woke up Thursday night with a fever and then woke up on and off throughout night.  All day Friday I had to hold her in my arms every waking moment.  Luckily she took frequent naps but I still didn't get much done.  Thinking that whatever she had would eventually run it's course I opted to not take her to the doctors office.  Once Saturday afternoon rolled around and we still couldn't reduce her fever we decided to take her into the clinic.  Turns out she had an ear and eye infection.  After 24 hours on the antibiotic she was doing remarkably better.  However, she is also teething on top of all of this and so she's still not her old self yet.  Which means that mama is still not her usual self yet either.  Laundry is piling up, bathrooms are getting scummy, dishes are waiting to be unloaded from the dishwasher, essential things like eggs and cheese need to be purchased, floors need to be swept/mopped/vacuumed...you get my point.  I will say this, I am so glad that I am able to be home with her and be that comfort for her that she needs right now.  I'm happy to put all the boring tedious things aside for a few days if it means my baby will feel better.  Needless to say, I haven't had a chance to blog...I guess that's what I was getting at.

But don't give up on me yet!!  I have lots and lots of things...mostly pictures....to share with you.  Even though Alayna has taken up almost all of my time, I was able to get away for a few hours on Friday before Charlie had to go into work and take some pictures of some of my friends and their kids up in the mountains.  It was so much fun!!  Now I have the fun task of filtering through all of them (over 500 pics) and editing the good ones.

I also took tons of pictures at Dallin's last soccer game on Saturday.  So stay tuned, I promise I'll share with you what I've been up to.  Oh yeah, and also what Charlie's been up to as well :-)

Technology

I'm being bombarded with new technology entering our home.  I love it, don't get me wrong, but I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed at having to learn how to operate it all while still juggling day to day life.  I'll tell you, it's not easy trying to keep life going smoothly when everything you once used is now different and updated and all cool...too cool for me anyway!  I got a new camera, see previous post.

We got a new computer.

And today I got a new phone.  Three things that I use daily and I'm still trying to figure them all out.  We've been talking about getting all of these items for forever it seems and it just so happened that the opportunity arose and we figured what were we waiting for?  So now all at once, it seems, we are updated.  But you know what that means....now all at once in about 5 years (or less) we will be totally outdated!  Isn't that how life goes?

Water

Is it just me or does the water from the bathroom faucet taste different than the water from the kitchen faucet?  Weird.

Spring Cleaning

In the spirit of spring cleaning I added two new recipes to my recipe blog.  What, you have a recipe blog?  Yes, if you don't know about my recipe blog (or you haven't checked it in awhile because I don't update it very often) check it out...it will confirm to you that, yes I am a dork!
Anyway, I added a recipe for cleaning yellow stains out of clothes as well as my favorite window washing solution.  Happy cleaning!!

And To Think That I Saw It On Petalina Court

This might not be Mulberry Street but it sure is Petalina Court and how many people can say they've seen one of these walking around on their street? Let alone in their front yard! Yes, my friends we had a TURKEY strolling around our street the other day. The kids and I were eating our dinner and I saw something that looked like a goose in our neighbors yard down yonder. We watched as the "goose" got closer and we discovered it wasn't a goose, but what was it? I thought it might be a pheasant but then as it got even closer it had one of those gobblers under it's chin and I didn't think pheasants had those. It was actually Kenzie that said, I think it's a turkey, Mom! A turkey?? What in the world would a turkey be doing walking around here? And sure enough once it got close enough we determined it was indeed a turkey.

Random Memory

I was washing the dishes today when I was reminded of a time way back when I was a teenager. I had made cookies on a whim and left all the dishes out on the counter. My mom kindly asked me the next morning to take care of the dirty dishes. I told her I'd get to it later. She neatly stacked all the dirty dishes in the sink where they waited for me to "get to it later". Later I noticed the dishes stacked in the sink but being the lazy teenager that I was I ignored them and went on my merry way. That evening they were still in the sink waiting for me to clean and my mom gently reminded me of them. Still I put it off. I'm sure this whole time my mom was probably so annoyed by them, for as a mother your kitchen is your domain. Sadly to say I selfishly never washed those dishes. I'm sure my mom very begrudgingly ended up washing them for me. Sorry mom!

Jewlery

Do you like jewelry? I'm not much into it but I promised my cousin I'd let all my readers (all 2 of you ;-) know about her business. She sells Jewel Kade jewlery and she has a blog all about it. Check it out...I browsed around and it looks pretty cool. Sarah is such a cool gal and mother, so go take a look!
Thanks!

My Disappointment

The hype. The advertisements. The manufacturer's guarantee. The high recommendations.  The buyer's high reviews.  The sale (that never happens!!).  I thought for sure I was making the right decision.  But oh, the disappointment.  Are my expectations too high?  I was ready to be blown away and I wasn't even phased.  In fact I was totally let down.  The bulk, the weight, the LACK OF SUCTION.  Could it be possible that this one that retails for $400 is worse than my $50 purchase I made over 3 years ago?  I don't know.  Should I give it another chance or take it back?  Am I being too hard on the poor thing?  I'm still trying to figure out if the benefits outweigh the negatives.

The BIG car

The kids call our new car "the BIG car".  They love it, as do Charlie and I.  It's a 2002 Chevy Tahoe.  It has everything we wanted in a Tahoe (we've been looking for a while now) and we got it for a great price.  We love our new truck!
