I'm so thankful that Dallin and Kenzie get along and play really well with each other. It is a huge blessing. I hope they can maintain this close relationship throughout their lives. They really do have a strong bond.
Here are a few funny things that have happened:
Kenzie got out of bed one night (big No-No!) and so Charlie went in her room to see what was going on. She was just playing and messing around instead of sleeping so he took her coveted pet kitty (Houskey) away and her blankie. She of course threw an all time fit crying hysterically. So he said, alright if you can stay in bed I'll give you back your blankie (softy!!) but you can't have Houskey back. A little bit later he went back in there to check on them and Kenzie says very adult-like and matter-of-fact, "Dad, I'm not very happy that you took Houskey away from me and I was really upset when you took blankie away but you gave me blankie back and now I'm OK."Kenzie woke up in the middle of the night crying so Charlie went to check on her. She was standing next to her bed just crying. Charlie asked her what was wrong and she said there was cheese all over her bed waving her hand over her bed as if to show him all the cheese. He said there was no cheese on her bed and to go to sleep. But she insisted that her bed was covered in cheese and she was not getting back in bed. So Charlie "swept off" all the "cheese" so finally she was able to go back to sleep. The next morning she had no recollection of the cheese.
"Mom, I'm like totally the best colorer in the whole entire world because I stay in the lines", said Kenzie.
Dallin: "Mom, look look look! This guy (picture a Lego guy) can breath fire, and then jump really high in the air, flip around, land on the ground, bounce back up, while shooting bombs and killing the bad guys. (Insert lots of blowing up and explosion sounds.) He kills dragons too! And he can fly! Oh no, he lost his shoe! (Insert more shooting and blowing up sounds). Get him, get him!! Ahhhhhhh....come back here, come back here. Come on Kenz, let's get the dragons, I'll show you where they are." (This is just a small example of what I hear everyday from a very imaginative 5 year old!)
