The Pratt's Don't Like Squash
Last night I decided to try acorn squash for the first time. I made sure to drown it in butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup. Surly with enough sweetness baked into it we'd love it, right? Not so!! We all took a bite of it about the same time and each of us started gagging on it! Charlie and Dallin wrinkled up their noses and both agreed that it was not good. Kenzie put the bite in her mouth and started crying! She didn't want to swallow it but we said just to chew it up quickly and swallow. So through her tears she swallowed it without chewing it and gagged on it and then finally swallowed it. After it was finally down she said, I don't want to ever try that again, it's gross! It was the funniest dinner ever because for once it wasn't just the kids that didn't like something, NONE of us did! I couldn't stop laughing at the situation. Never have I made a dish that brought someone to tears!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to find other people who don't like acorn squash. Everyone I know seems to love the stuff.
But it's wrong, I tell you! Wrong!
That's hilarious!! I'll make sure not to try that one either...yuck.
Hey you wusses! You did it all wrong! BUTTERNUT squash is what is good! I am making it tonight!
YUMM!!
So funny, I personally like squash, but if someone put onions or mushrooms in front of me I would probably cry too. I guess we aren't any different then kids. We just get to pick what we cook :)
