The first and only thing I immediately think of for the new year is: when will this baby finally come? But then I have to remind myself that she'll come when she's good and ready...be patient!! So then I try to think a little bit beyond the birth of our baby girl and think of some things that I really want to accomplish and do in the coming year. I figure if I write them down I'll be better at sticking to it...at least that's the theory.
#1 I want to get a gym membership and start taking classes and get back in shape as soon as I get the OK from the doctor. In conjunction with that, I really want to either run a race (probably 5K) and/or climb Mt. Elbert again. Mt. Elbert is the tallest peak in Colorado. Charlie, Ellen, and I did it about 8-9 years ago and I'm anxious to see if I can do it again (three kids later).
#2 I need to find a good school for my kids. I've done a little bit of research on the topic and I feel like the information I need is out there somewhere but I haven't landed on it yet. So my goal is to put a priority on it, ask around, and make a decision before it's too late to enroll Dallin into a kindergarten and Kenzie to a preschool.
#3 Make more of an effort to attend the temple, STUDY my scriptures (not just read them), and magnify my calling at church. I really have no excuse with my in-laws and my brother living in fairly close proximity to the temple. I know they would willingly watch our kids while we went and I just need to utilize that luxury more often.
#4 Take Charlie out on more dates this year :-)
#5 ENJOY life more. I tend to stress about the little things and take less time to sit back and enjoy the moment with my kids, my husband, my family. It also includes providing opportunities for our family to make memories and be better united.
There it is. My official unofficial list of future plans. Here's wishing you all a wonderful 2011.
