JWF Family Reunion 2011

Every three years we have a family reunion on the Foutz side.  The six siblings take turns planning it, starting from the oldest working our way down.  This time around my brother Jacob had the honor of planning it (it will be my turn in 6 years).  He chose beautiful Buena Vista, CO as the location.  There was a bit of a debate on how to pronounce Buena Vista, is it Bewna Vista or Boyna Veesta?  Come to find out the locals all say Bewna Vista, it was named by a German woman, go figure!

We stayed in individual cabins for 6 nights 7 days.  Every single family member was present which isn't easy considering there are 29 of us (plus a few dogs) spanning across two states.  We had some visits from extended family members living in other parts of Colorado as well.  So if you include them it comes up to a whopping 41 people!!

Things we did:
we went white water rafting
the guys went golfing...a lot!
swimming at the hot springs
hiking with little kids (not the funnest thing in the world)
shopping with my sisters
played Minute to Win It games (go team Incredibles!)
Family Feud (the men cremated the women)
visited a Ghost Town
fed the chipmunks
the kids each caught their first fish
ate lots of good food
played card games
ate yummy ice cream
watched movies while it rained
the kids played with their cousins...a lot!
girls went to lunch
family pictures (need I remind you there were 29 of us...no easy feat!)
talked, talked, talked
star gazing (Charlie found a cool app that identifies all the constellations)

We had a great week and were so appreciative of Jake for all his hard work in planning it.  The kids LOVED playing with their cousins, it was great that they could build those friendships.  However I still don't think they'll ever be able to tell the difference between Ruby and Sierra.
