I had no idea until I was looking on Facebook that Reedurban Elementary School has closed. This is the school I attended K-5 grades. Apparently they demolished the structure and are going to use the property as a community park. I have great memories of that school with some wonderful teachers. I was sad to hear that's it gone. The sentimental side of me surfaces once in while and with the school closing it just made me realize that's one more thing from growing up that's gone. I didn't have much left to begin with and now I feel even more removed from my life in Ohio. It doesn't really matter and in the long run what difference does it make but I'll savor my sentimental moment for now.
For those family members and friends who went to Perry you might be interested in this. Kind of interesting.

Wow! So weird! Although Reedurban holds only memories of insecure and unsure times of my life, that is where my journey in the mid-west began, and where my self-discovery started...
It makes me sad too... for some reason...
It would be cool to go back and see. The new park, Pfieffer, Edison, and Perry. Nostalgia... you can't get away from it.
The building is actually still standing...I thought it was to come down in October...it looks like they've been removing stuff inside before they level it. It is sad that our elementary school is no longer open. They had an open house in the spring, but we weren't able to go. I was in there a few years ago for my niece and nephew's Christmas program and it looked the same as when I went there a LONG time ago!
