Utah Trip

I had my trip to Utah planned for months.  I was going to take the two little ones over to see their G-ma and G-pa and to visit with family and friends.

While in Utah, I was able to meet Dare (Hannie's new little one) for the first time.  He's such a sweet baby.  I also visited with a friend of mine, Jenn Lamoreaux, who I've known since I was 5 years old.

My Uncle Dean lost his battle with leukemia on the Sunday morning before I left, my flight left Tuesday morning.  The funeral was Thursday in Boise, ID and the burial service was held on Friday in Pleasant Grove, UT.  I was able to be there to see all of my cousins, their spouses and children, as well as aunts and uncles.

Life always throws you a curve ball and this one came out of nowhere.  While the family was gathered at the grave for Uncle Dean we received a call informing us that Aunt Jean, who had been traveling down to Utah from Idaho, had been killed in a car accident.  We were all shocked and stunned that this really could have happened!  It was comforting to be among so many close family members and as we mourned the loss of Uncle Dean we couldn't help but think of Aunt Jean as well.

It was a good trip overall.  The girls did awesome on the flights to and from and I received lots of help getting through security and onto the plane.  I was very humbled by the abundance of support I received from perfect strangers.  While it was a sad time thinking about the loss of my Uncle Dean and Aunt Jean, it was also a happy reunion of many family members.
