One Dollar Project

I went garage sale shopping a few weeks ago.  I can understand why so many people are addicted to it.  You can seriously find some awesome deals!  My problem is just holding myself back.  I find myself wanting to buy things just because they are a good deal, not because I really need them.

However, I ended up purchasing this UGLY painting from a lady who begged me to buy it for $1...she just wanted to get rid of it.  So I said fine, thinking I'd reuse the frame for something else.  When I brought it home I got to looking at it.  The oil painting was actually not that bad.  It had these raised textures and brush strokes, I just HATED the colors.  I decided to paint over the whole thing in watered-down white paint.  I wanted the original colors to come through a little bit but not much.  So after a few layers of paint here's what it looks like.  It's definitely not my favorite but much better than the original and it serves it's purpose by filling up an otherwise empty wall in our home making it more inviting to potential buyers.  There you have it...my one dollar project!
