Blessed

Recent experiences and conversations with friends and people I've met have awakened me to the beautiful life I have.  There are so many people in the world that are really struggling through some pretty tough trials and hardships.  It's hard for me to relate to them, to really empathize with them.  I'm so thankful for my husband and the strong relationship we have, for all four (soon to be 5) children and the chance I have to be home with them and that they are all healthy and thriving, for Charlie's steady job and the hard work he put in to get to where he is and for never giving up when it could have been so easy to do so.  I'm so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ.  For the peace and happiness it provides in my life.  When I think of so many of the trials in others' lives I can't help but be reminded of the importance of doing the small and simple things EVERY DAY that keep us afloat and staying on the right track.  We have recently committed as a family to read the scriptures every morning together.  We each go around the breakfast table and read one verse.  It doesn't take hardly any time at all but what an impact it's made.  It feels good to start out our day on the right foot.  And how easy it is to just follow up our reading with family prayer.  I know that when we do these little things each day, no matter how hard it is, Heavenly Father is bound to bless us.  He has promised us that when we do our part he WILL pour down His blessings.  I am feeling an overwhelming desire to be better and to have an attitude of gratitude for all my blessings.
