Family Visits

Right after our family reunion we had some visitors to our house.  Jacob and his family stopped here for a few days to visit on their way back home to MD.  We spent time at the splash park and playing in the backyard.  The kids had a great time.

Then just a few days after Jacob's family took off, my parents came over for a nice visit.  We were able to celebrate Dad Foutz's birthday which just happens to be the same day as Dad Pratt's!

We also took a trip to Colorado Springs to drive up Pikes Peak.  Charlie and I have been wanting to do this but have never taken the time.  It was a perfect opportunity to do it with Mom and Dad and the kids.  They jokingly have signs posted throughout the drive to watch out for Big Foot.  We were teasing Kenzie about it and she had all sorts of questions about who Big Foot is and what he's all about.  She kept asking if he was real or not.  We just told her she had to make up her own mind about him.  At the top of the mountain, they have a visitor center with a small cafe.  They make world-famous donuts up there.  They claim the recipe only works at 14,110 feet!  We HAD to try some and even though they are VERY proud of their unique donuts, they were pretty good.  I guess it was worth the money.

The day before Mom and Dad left we hosted a family BBQ at our house.  We invited all the Scalmanini's and Roskelley's as well as Mom and Dad Pratt.  We had about 20 friends and family here!  It was great to have everyone and good to see our family again.

Look out Kenz, here comes Big Foot!!
