Gennie Bennie

Gennie Gennie Gennie!  I have been known to text Charlie in the middle of the day telling him that he'll be lucky to ever see his three year old again....I'm selling her to the gypsies!  They say "oh the terrible twos, watch out!"  Oh no, it's the horrible threes you must endure...and most of the fours too.  Once five rolls around they turn into a human being again.

We started potty training Gennie right around Halloween.  Now we are well into March and we are STILL having potty issues.  It's the most frustrating thing ever because she's totally potty trained, she knows what to do, she hasn't wet the bed in ages, and yet for some reason she likes to stand in front of the toilet and pee.  It's not like she's playing and gets so absorbed in what she's doing and waits too long to head to the bathroom, oh no!  She's IN THE BATHROOM right IN FRONT of the toilet and pees in her pants.  When you ask her why she didn't pee in the toilet, she'll say, "because I pee in my pants!"  UGH!  We have tried EVERYTHING we can think of to motivate her to use the toilet and still she has accidents.  And the thing that's even more frustrating is that she'll go for 2-3 days with no accidents so I get all excited thinking that we finally got over that stage and then by the third or fourth day she'll have 3 accidents in one day!  I'm telling you, God is really trying to teach me patience.  I guess I better learn it or this girl will be peeing in her pants till she's 18!

On another note, Gennie is also our sweet little princess.  She has caught the Disney magic of princesses and is running with it.  She loves to wear dresses and she frequently changes her dresses throughout the day depending on which princess she is pretending to be.  Grandma's house is the coolest right now because she has all the real princess dresses to dress up with.  She loves to watch the Disney princess movies and she sings and dances to all the songs.  I'm loving it!  The other two never got into it but Gennie has totally latched onto it and she's just so darn cute!  (Kinda makes up for the rotten potty trainer that she is!)

As you can see below...she got a hold of a pen and made some lovely artwork on her legs and hands.  Ink pen is really hard to get off of skin!  She's just so curious and expressive.
