Mother's Day

The kids were really sweet to me on Mother' Day.  They made me lots of cards and gave me lots of hugs and kisses.  It's always nice to feel loved and appreciated.  Charlie splurged and got me a really nice blender.  I'm a little intimidated by it, but excited to use it.
Charlie had to work on Mother's Day this year.  I tried really hard not to put any expectations on the day.  I wanted to eat some yummy food on Mother's Day so I made a nice breakfast for me and the kids.  Later, after the dishes were done, I got the crock-pot going for after church.  We had a nice meal once Charlie got home and I was doing such a good job at keeping it all together until immediately after dinner he goes and sits down to relax.  I just thought, really...you can't even at least do the dishes on Mother's Day?!?  But I didn't say anything but I was mad and told myself I wasn't going to do the dishes even if they were still there in the morning.  Eventually Charlie came around and did most of the dishes and I finished the rest of the cleaning the next day.  Despite it all, I had a nice day.  I love my husband, faults and all, and my five amazing kids!
