We got a tour bus pass which we loved. It helped us get around the city as well as see parts that we weren't going to make on foot. We also learned tons! We toured Alcatraz, ate yummy yummy food, walked, walked, and walked some more, shopped in China Town, visited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the shopping district, Fisherman's Wharf, saw Lombard St. from a distance (we decided we had walked enough that day and didn't make the hike) saw lots of "Painted Ladies" (5-color Victorian homes), experienced the Golden Gate Bridge to the fullest extent (jog/walked the whole length), saw the corner of Haight and Ashbury in the "hippy district", drove through Golden Gate Park, saw lots of "interesting" homeless people, hit up Ghirardelli chocolate, and experienced the unbelievable bay city traffic! It was a ton of fun and we were happy to have experienced San Francisco!
Towards the end of our stay we drove over to visit the Lewis' and on the way we met up with my long-time friend, Heather Murphy who currently lives in Merced, CA which is about two hours south of Sacramento. She and I were the best of friends growing up, she even lived with me during our senior year of high school. We hadn't seen each other in over 7 years so it was a great reunion with her!
We headed straight to Jayla's cross country meet and met up with Emily and the boys. Later that night we finally got to watch Tanner play football! It was fun to watch him and hang with the family. Early the next morning it was on to soccer for Jake, a quick brunch at Panera and then we were off back to San Francisco to catch our flight back home.
It was a little bit of a whirlwind but we were able to do everything we set out to do and then some! I love to travel and experience new things.
