Side Yard Progression

The construction crew has been working so hard to get our side yard completed. It's taken a lot longer than anticipated because they've had to deal with the keeping the drainage consistent and the slope of the yard makes it hard too. They've been very thorough in their plans and took almost a week just to survey and prep the yard. Yesterday they finally poured the concrete! It was really fun to watch them work. We are SO glad the pros are doing it and that we didn't decide to try and tackle this project ourselves. It's looking really good, we are anxious to get out and play on it! This has totally transformed our yard!

This is what the corner looked like when we first moved in.

After they cleared out the rocks and pavers.

This is a good angle to show you the plans. The playset will go where the wheelbarrow is. The basketball court is the big square just beyond the playset. We'll have a sidewalk from the back garage door to the existing patio and then from the patio out to the court. Another sidewalk will go along the side of the garage to the driveway, where the man is standing. And finally we'll extend the driveway out front (not shown).

The big cement truck is out front, they piped the cement to the back through this big tube. They had to use A LOT of cement!

Here's the basketball court with the cement all smoothed and leveled.
And here's what it looks like this morning.

What a huge difference! I can't wait to see it. We'll have to play some hard core foursquare on your new court.
