We hiked to the lake and took a stroll around it. It was such a beautiful day, temperatures were in the mid 70's with a big blue sky and white puffy clouds. We made our little hike into a nature walk and I brought our Nature Walk Chart and when the kids found certain things on the list they put a sticker on the chart. It made walking a little more interesting for the kids and kept them on the look-out for different things in nature. (If you want a copy of my Nature Walk Chart for yourself, just e-mail me and I'll send it to you.)
We saw some cool birds, heard the coyotes at night, watched the chipmunks scurry around eating crumbs, and kept a look-out for bears (don't worry we didn't see any!).
We ate tons of junk food, sat around the fire and talked, watched the kids play together, laughed at the silly things Kenzie or Dallin would say, and enjoyed a good nap.
It was great to get out and have some family time and be among nature for a couple days. It was a lot of work packing, setting up, taking down, and unpacking but well worth it! We are very exhausted and ready for a good night sleep in our own beds tonight!
