Summer Days

Dallin and Kenzie have been having lots of fun playing in the water in the backyard, at the swimming pool, and at the lake.  While Dallin is getting a lot more confident in the water, Kenzie has taken a huge step backwards.  When she was just a little thing, she would stand on the edge of the pool and jump to me into the water and then do it again and again, she couldn't get enough of it.  Now she's lucky to even get in the water and forget about jumping into it!  She is most comfortable hanging out in the kiddy pool or when we go to the lake she'll usually just play in the sand.  When I fill the water up in our little pool outside, she won't really get into it, she will usually just fill her buckets up and dump the water on the yard while she dodges her older brother who is usually trying to get her wet anyway possible. 

Dallin, however gets right in and fills up his squirt guns and torments his little sister.  He was even putting his face in the pool while we were in Utah, which he's never done before.  I think it helped to see his older cousins playing in the water.  My mom got them these really convenient swim robes that act like a towel for after swimming.  They are perfect for the kids and they actually stay on, unlike the towels that always fall off.  Hopefully we have a few more swimming days before school starts and life gets more serious.
