This year for Christmas I really wanted to make an advent calendar for our family. One that would last throughout time. One that our kids couldn't destroy. One that would be easy to make and not too overwhelming. One that would be modern and cool. Well...I found a lot of ideas online like these.
But then as reality set in I realized that what I found and what I was really willing to put time into didn't mesh. So after a lot of redesiging and rethinking I finally decided that this was really a project that needs to start in July! It was stressing me out! I decided to make our advent calendar much more simple, no stress, and yet just as effective. Thus I created 24 Christmas envelopes each with a number. Inside the envelope includes a slip of paper with the Christmas related activity for the day. There you have it! And if the kids destroy it...so be it!

Cute idea. I bought ours - no craftiness on our end on this one. Max loves to move the star each day as we get closer. Sorry you are not feeling so good! Totally jealous of the mommy & daddy time you had together. Hoping we can get some of that here at the end of the month!
