August 15, 2011 was Dallin's first day of Kindergarten. His teacher this year is Mrs. Jackson and the assistant teacher is Mrs. Dodge. Both are very friendly and nice. One of Dallin's best friend's is in his class, Jackson. They get to sit next to each other at their table. So far Dallin has reported that he loves lunch time the best and that they are counting down to 100 and on the 100th day of school they will have a 100 party! He's excited about that. Dallin also told me about a girl in his class that he thinks it beautiful. He said, "Guess what Mom, there's a girl in my class and I think she's so beautiful!" "Oh yeah, what's her name?" "I don't know, I'm too nervous to talk to her but when I saw her I did this: leaned back in chair with head leaning back and back of hand on forehead eyes closed, sigh." I was cracking up!! He also says it's hot when they play outside and he remembers whenever anyone gets into trouble. I keep working with him on trying to remember the good things! He has been tired, which I expected. All day kindergarten makes for a long day, 8:00-3:00 everyday. But I'm sure he'll adjust to it in the coming days and weeks.
I was really proud of myself, I didn't cry dropping him off. He was really brave and excited so that helped. It also helped that I was able to meet his teacher the week prior and see the classroom. I asked her a lot of questions and that really put me at ease. I feel really good about this school and I'm sure Dallin will have a great experience this year.

Good Job Dallin! And way to keep it together Raenie! (-: It's hard when it's your first. That is a LONG day though. Jake starts next week and goes 8:05-2:45. Hopefully everything will continue to go well!
What a big kid! That's such a long day! I can't believe that Dal is in kindergarten.
He really looks like a "cool dude". That's good he has a friend to be with. I can't believe how grown up he looks.
That's crazy! Time goes by fast!
