Summer Trip

This summer we took a trip to visit family in both Idaho and Utah.  I never busted out my camera in Utah...don't ask me why...but I got a cute shot in Idaho.  Anyway, we had a great time visiting and lots of family time in the car!  It was great to see everyone and spend time with our family that we love so much.

We drove from Pueblo to Arvada on Monday night.  Spent the night then woke up early to drive the 11 hours to Idaho Falls to see Martha and family.  We had a great visit with them on Tuesday/Wednesday including a trip to their favorite ice cream shop.  And even though the kids hadn't seen each other in 2.5 years it was as if they picked up right where they had left off and played so well!  Then on Wednesday afternoon we drove down to Layton, UT just in time to take Grandma and Grandpa Clark to dinner.  It was nice to visit with them and treat them to dinner out.  It was a quick visit with G-ma and G-pa as we still had an hour drive down to Draper where we stayed with Carmen and family.

When we got there Mijken and the boys met us and it was great to see everyone.  Thursday we were able to spend most of the day with Hannie.  She took us down to City Creek and then we drove over to her house to see the new water feature in the backyard that Ryan built (pretty impressive).

Friday, Charlie and I went to the temple and then we spent the afternoon at the pool with the kids among all the smoke in the air from a nearby forest fire.  That evening we went to dinner at Brickhouse Pizza with just the adults.  It was so much fun, but the cinnamon rolls were not very moist :-)

Saturday, the guys went golfing in the morning and then took the kids to the movies.  Carmen and I went shopping.  That evening we had a BBQ at Spencer's.

We really did have a great time and even though we were so sick of riding in the car it was all worth it!
