Alayna is talking SO much better and SO much more lately. She just jabbers away, mostly things that none of us can understand but more and more we can figure it out. Her favorite words lately are:
shock: chocolate or chocolate milk
treat: anything sugary
kk/ik/ink: milk/drink
blank: blankie
Down: Dallin
Kessie: Kenzie
snack: anything found in the pantry
Santa: anything pertaining to Christmas
Ho-ween: Halloween music or Christmas music
snowman: an actual snowman or snow in general
Ammo: Elmo
show: TV show or movie
baby: any person her size or smaller, also my belly
chee: Christmas tree
stick: chap stick...she's obsessed with it
brush: toothbrush or toothpaste....she's obsessed with those too
So Soots!: Go Utes!
This week has been her first week in her big girl bed. We haven't moved her in with Kenzie yet, we wanted to give her some time to get used to the bed in her own room first and so far she's done great! It helps that the bed has a railing the whole length of it while the other side is up against the wall so she can't really get out. I suppose if she really wanted to she could climb out at the foot but she hasn't even tried...luckily! She knows that she has a big girl bed now and that the crib is for the baby. I have been so surprised at how easy the transition has been and how matter-of-fact she's been about the whole change. She has willingly accepted the new idea, thankfully!
Alayna is such a little stinker at times, drawing on the walls, and dumping buckets of toys everywhere, and emptying the shelves of books, and ripping the pages or covers off books, and taking all her clothes out of her dresser spreading them all over her room, and dumping the trash cans onto the floor, and throwing her food and spilling her milk all over the floor at mealtime, and removing all my shoes out of my closet, and crumpling up all our bathmats in our bathroom, and unrolling the whole roll of toilet paper in one bathroom only to tromp over to the other bathroom and do the same thing, and dropping a picture frame breaking the glass and cutting herself and getting blood all over the room.....well, I guess I could keep going on and on but needless to say Alayna is one BUSY little girl. And as crazy as she makes me with all her messes, she can be the sweetest and funniest little thing. She's so cute and has these big innocent eyes that just melt your heart. If you ask her if she made a mess she willingly confesses and says, "I sorry", and looks up at you with those eyes and you can't help but love her despite her devilish acts. She is actually pretty good at cleaning up her messes...at least the ones she can. I find that whatever I'm doing I can't focus my entire attention on because there's always a part of my brain wondering where Alayna is and what she's getting into. I check on her a hundred times a day and that's still not enough! But that's our Alayna and we love her anyway.

You just described my Megan! They would be great friends, just think of the trouble they could get into.
