Lulu Turns Four

Lulu has been looking forward to her fourth birthday for a long time!  She knew that once she turned four she would be able to do two things that she's so excited to start.  The first is preschool and the second is SOCCER!  It just so happened that the kids were off school on her birthday (Presidents Day) and it also landed on a day that Charlie had off.  So even though her birthday was on a Monday we were ALL home to celebrate the big day together.

Lulu got to pick where we ate for lunch so we went to Fazoloi's followed by Krispie Kreme's for donuts.  Then we spent the afternoon at the park playing.  Later that evening she wanted to have a batman themed party so we recruited some superhero villains (aka family members) and made her a batman treasure hunt where she had to fight the villain in order to move on to her next clue that eventually led to all her presents!  Charlie was the Riddler, Dallin was the Joker, Kenzie was Catwoman, and Juju was Two-Face.

As in true Lulu style, she said she had a great day but that it wasn't REALLY her birthday because no one came.  We weren't sure what she meant by that and after lots of crying and tears, we learned that she thought her cousins and grandparents were going to come specifically on her birthday.  Then we told her that they were coming on Sunday to celebrate all the January birthdays together.  She felt a little bit better then but still felt a little slighted.
