The Last Two Weeks

I haven't posted in awhile for a few reasons.  One, I'm setting up a blog for my sister's business and I'm having so much fun on her blog that I've neglected my own.  Also my feet are starting to swell more and more the longer I sit at the computer.  I have to get up every now and then and walk around.  Plus my belly is getting in the way of typing and remember that sweet spot right under my ribs that I mentioned before? Yeah, doesn't feel too swell once I've been sitting for oh maybe 5 minutes.  So it makes it less enticing to want to blog, even though I love it.

Anyway...here's an update on what's been going on around here.  We really enjoyed Thanksgiving this year.  We had Mom and Dad Pratt, Ellen, Jason, and Gavin, and Rose and Breanna (friends from church) over for our holiday feast.  Everyone pitched in to help cook, chop, bake, clean, set up, take down, clean some more, serve, pour, cut, and clean even more.  It was truly a combined effort, which I was so grateful for since I'm lacking my normal energy level.

After the Thanksgiving celebration died down life went back to normal for 5 days or so.  We took Dallin out of school on Thursday and drove up to Castle Rock where we met up with Mom Pratt and Ellen.  We swapped cars and they took off with our children for 4 days!  It was SO NICE to be able to spend some relaxing time with Charlie, just the two of us.  We got all of our Christmas shopping done and all the presents wrapped.  We went to the movies and rented some movies.  Ate out for dinner a few times, slept in until 9:00 in the morning, and cleaned the house (and it even stayed clean!!).  We even got to sit and actually listen and enjoy church on Sunday!  We really enjoyed our time away from the kids but we were also starting to miss them.  It was a great reunion on Sunday evening when they came back home.

As for me and the baby, yesterday I started having shooting pains in my lower back and abdomen and then down my right leg.  The shooting pains were concentrated in my lower back throughout the night which made it hard to sleep.  When I got up I did a lot of different stretches and exercises to hopefully strengthen my lower back and release some of the tension built up throughout the night.  Charlie is so nervous that I'll have this baby really early.  I'm not really worried about it.  I read that this is pretty common with women in pregnancy especially if it's not their first.  Let's hope it's nothing serious!

The Christmas decorations are up, the lights are hung on the house, half of the Christmas cards are in the mailbox, tomorrow we'll buy our tree, and the kids and I will decorate it on Wednesday.  We are hosting a Christmas party for Charlie's co-workers at our house on the 19th and we'll have our ward Christmas party on the 17th so we have lots of fun things to look forward to.  I think this will be a great Christmas!

I wondered where you had been. And, now I know! Glad you had a little reprieve from chaos, and got everything done and organized! Hope all is well with your pains. Keep us posted.

Thanks for hosting Thanksgiving! I hope your back feels a little better, at least it will in another month!
