Layna

Layna is finally starting to grow!  She's been wearing the same size clothes since August!  I noticed just this weekend that some of her jammies and jeans were getting too short on her.  Yea!!  Another huge milestone for her: she's walking!  Yup yup, she's all over the place too.  She's even mastered going up the stairs.  She'll also bend over, pick up a toy, and keep on walking without falling over.  I learned just tonight that she can get down off the sofa without falling on her face.

She says only a couple recognizable words.  Some include:
- Mom (not Mama)
- Da or Dat
- Dallin (which she says perfectly, not sure if it's really intentional yet or not)
- Dada (her first word...as usual)

Alayna is officially weened and drinking lots of whole milk now from her sippy cups.  She loves to drink from a straw and has had that one mastered since Charlie gave her a taste of his milkshake at like 3 months.  She loves cheese, meat, yogurt, strawberries, and cheerios.  She doesn't like bananas for some reason and she's starting to enjoy scrambled eggs a little bit more.

Layna is our people person.  She LOVES the attention from everyone.  She's not afraid of strangers and will stretch her arms out to anyone who will look at her.  It's pretty funny because even the most unsuspecting person (like a big guy with a beard) won't scare her off.  She'll smile and flirt with just about anyone as well as let them hold her if she gets lucky.  It's been so nice for me to know that I can leave her and she's not going to scream, unlike her older siblings.

She loves to take things out and put things in.  If there is a purse, drawer, suitcase, box, cupboard, bin, trash can, closet...you name it...within her reach she will take whatever is in it out and either put it back away (which is great!) or she'll put it back in another spot.  Sometimes the other spot is really close by but there have been times when we have found some random cup or pencil in the laundry hamper or in the bathroom.  She definitely leaves her mark wherever she goes.

We love our little Laynie Rae!
